Lá le Pádraig sona daoibh – Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you all!
St. Patrick’s Day (Lá le Pádraig), or Paddy’s Day, is the national holiday of Ireland, which is celebrated on the 17th March each year.
Here at Coffee, Cake and Kink, we like to embrace customs from near and far alike – and, lucky us, we have our very own Irish staff member, Una, to educate us all in the ways of being Irish, and celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.
Like many holidays, St. Patrick’s Day started out as a religious holiday, commemorating the patron saint of Ireland, but has since been secularised and spread to many other countries, including England, although it is still most popular in Ireland.
Probably the most well known and notorious custom surrounding Paddy’s Day is that of consuming very large quantities of alcohol. Which is all well and good, but there are other ways to show your support for the Irish on this day too. The most popular being to wear GREEN!
Now that’s something CCK can help you with!
If you want something green to ‘wear’ try these pearly-green Smartballs from German toymakers, Fun Factory. Not only can you wear these fun little things all day without anyone knowing, but they’ll strengthen up those special muscles, and feel great too! A coy little way to celebrate Paddy’s Day, that can just be your little secret!
Alternatively, instead of wearing green, maybe you’d prefer to play with something green… Just take a look at some of our green vibrators, like this Layaspot lay-on vibe, that comes in a beautiful 2 tone colourway of Vanilla and Pistachio. Another innovative toy from Fun Factory that will both surprise and delight you!
Or for something truly luxurious and indulgent, check out the LELO Ina, that comes in a gentle shade of Lime. And since, like all LELO products, this vibe comes with a 1 year warranty, you’re guaranteed to still be enjoying it next St. Patrick’s Day too!
If you’re looking for a cute Irish twist on a classic, then embrace the Irish weather with this cute little waterproof Green Travel Duckie. Believe it or not, it rains even more in Ireland than it does here in England. So why not take pleasure in it? And trust me, this surprisingly powerful waterproof vibe will give you hours of pleasure, both in and out of the water! And it’s so innocent looking it can be left on display no matter who comes to visit.
And for those of you who don’t like green, but still want to try something fresh and new this Paddy’s Day, take a bite of this Lovely minty fresh chocolate. Or better yet, use it for it’s therapeutic qualities tomorrow – all that peppermint and cardamon should help settle your stomach if you were out ‘celebrating’ St Patrick’s Day the day before!
So, Lá le Pádraig sona daoibh. Sin é. Tá mé ag dul go dtí an theach tábhairne!
(So, Happy St. Patrick’s Day. That’s it. I’m off to the pub!) – Una
